The BMW Motorrad Nordic Safari 2021 will be a GS-version, suitable for all BMW GS models. It will take you from the salty west coast in Bohuslän Sweden, through beautiful Dalsland, the widespread forests of Värmland, around lake Siljan in Dalarna before it finishes in Östersund, Jämtland. A 1250km (approx.) mix of asphalt, gravel, forest roads and exciting challenges!
The days are arranged so we have one or two “transport stages” (normally 30-60 min) per day where we will ride bigger roads to cover some distance and move from one favourite area to the next. This gives us the possibility to see a greater part of the country and at same time spend the most possible time on our favourite roads! These transport stages are also a good time for some recovery before the next set of challenges.

Arriving at the starting point on the West Coast, welcome dinner and riders meeting. If you arrive early, you have the opportunity to explore the beautiful coastline on your own. Our hotel is Tanum Strand by the sea.
The first riding day takes us through Bohuslän, Dalsland and the south of Värmland on a mix of asphalt and gravel roads. We finish the day in the surroundings of Sunne and the Fryken Lakes. Our hotel for the night is Selma Spa, named after the famous Swedish author Selma Lagerlöf.
We continue through Värmland and pass in to Dalarna on some of our favorite gravel roads mixed with some asphalt. We will end the day in Tällberg on the beautiful east shore of Lake Siljan. Here we will stay two nights at Dalecarlina Hotel & Spa with a stunning view over the lake.
The day will be spent at the surroundings of Tällberg, Leksand and Gagnef. Since we are coming back to the same hotel in the evening you will have several options this day, easy riding, hard riding or scenic riding. This is one of our route makers, Elving Solli´s, home turf. So whatever option you choose for the day, we will have some exiting surprises for you – that´s for sure!
We will riding north through Dalarna, Härjedalen and in to Jämtland where the forests will get bigger and the mountains higher. Now we are really starting to feel that we are entering another, more remote, part of Sweden. We will spend the night at Hotel Klövsjöfjäll with a view over the lakes and mountains.
On our last riding day the landscape is very different from when we started on the West Coast a few days ago. Again we are on the home turf of one of our tour makers, this time Per Wallin. He will take us through mysterious valleys and the windswept Flatruetvägen where we can see Norwegian mountains in the distance. We will arrive at Frösö Park Hotel, just next to Östersund airport, where we´ll enjoy a final dinner together in the evening.
Breakfast, departure and very much looking forward to the next BMW Motorrad Nordic Safari – that you got some “off the record information” about at last nights dinner!
If you are new to gravel, have not been riding for a while or just want to freshen your skills, we offer a full-day pre-safari training at our, state of the art, offroad training area in Lidköping. The training will be adapted to the kind of riding and terrain we will face on the Safari and make sure you are well prepared for the adventure ahead! We have several instructors working on site and offer training in different skill levels.
The training will be arranged on the Saturday before the Safari, so you have the Sunday to ride from Lidköping to the starting point in Grebbestad (approx. 150km).
